London June 2003
After flying to Frankfurt and spending a couple of days with our families, my wife and I flew to
London, leaving the kids with their grandparents. We stayed at the Russell Hotel at Russell Square.
We explored the city by foot and tube and also visited Windsor Castle. In the evenings, we watched
two musicals: Grease and, of course, We Will Rock You. As a life long Queen fan, I had to see this
one. We also had dinner with our friends Ann & Lee who moved to London from Houston a couple
of years earlier.
We started our London tour at the Tower of
London. While there, President Putin of Russia
along with his wife was also touring London and
the Tower. Among high security, he greeted the
tourists and seemed to have a good time. Below
is a picture of him.

On our last full day, we took the train to Windsor
where we visited
Windsor Castle. The city of
Windsor also has a beautiful pedestrian zone and is
located on the Thamse River.
